Going to school again

Wed Jun 24, 2009, 2:37 PM
Today was my first day of class. A few months back I decided I should take some sort of art class, especially considering my proximity to the college. So after some debate I signed up for yoga and intro to painting. Didn't get into yoga but made it into painting 107. The instructor seems nice, the class is dominated by girls, which I find noteworthy because I never thought of painting as being only a feminine activity.

My experience with painting in the past only really includes some crappy attempts in highschool art class and a few failed attempts on my own since then, so I think this class will be a rewarding experience. One emphasis of the class will be color theory which I think will be especially helpful. Sure I've been working with coloring in marker but I feel there is still a lot I don't fully understand about how colors interact with another.

Anyways here's hoping for a productive learning experience. Maybe I'll even paint something worth posting ^_^

I like squirrels, crows, pigeons, possums and basically all the urban wildlife you can find. I saw a skunk breaking into my garage the other night and it's hard to say who was more excited, me or my cats watching eagerly from behind the screen door.

Most people consider these animals as pests but I consider them to be beautiful and undervalued adaptable creatures. I love to toss them a bread crumb when I can, even if I get odd looks from strangers for doing so.

I came across your house on elftown (I'm sequeena_rae on there) and followed your link here. Your art is wonderful! Would you consider coming back to us? :)

Elftown is still alive? Mind boggling. Honestly though I never really got involved with that side of elfwood, I mostly stuck to the woods. And well like many artists eventually got fed up even there. I think now though I'll just stick with maintaining my DA account, it's too much time and effort to try to keep track of multiple art places. I thank you for your praise though, and your diligence in hunting me down ;)

Yeah it's still going, amazing really lol :D
You're very welcome :p
